Good Question: How Does A Measure Get On The Ballot?
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) -- Along with selecting the next governor, there are plenty of measures to consider in the November election. But how did they get there? Amanda asked this Good Question: What has to be done to get a measure on the ballot?
ANSWER: According to San Francisco political consultant Johnny Wang, members of the State Legislature can sponsor legislation and so can members of the public. They simply need to follow the correct procedure for gathering signatures and make sure the wording of the law is constitutional.
