SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) _ With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, the San Francisco Giants and its fans are hopeful that the playoffs might also be around the corner.

Lifelong fan Liz Orofino was one of many who went online to purchase playoff tickets on Tuesday.

"How can you not go? It's so exciting right now," she said. "They're playing really well and every game is a nail-biter. It gets you excited and there's a certain buzz about this city that everyone's into the Giants this year, which is great."

Although fans and players are optimistic, the team has not clinched a spot in the postseason. In fact, they are in the closest divisional race in all of baseball.

Even so, San Francisco Giants President Larry Baer said seats are going fast.

"We have a few thousand tickets left for each game, but we're going to need to close it up here in the next day or two," said Baer. "It's a lot of fun. We're going to play down to the wire."

Tickets for the National League Division Series are only available through the team's website.
