Four Arrested In Fremont Robbery Attempts

FREMONT (BCN) - Four people were arrested early Monday in connection with a robbery and attempted robbery in Fremont on Sunday night, police said.

The attempted robbery was reported at about 11 p.m. near Fremont and Grimmer boulevards. The victim was walking on Fremont Boulevard when he was approached by four males in a maroon SUV, according to police.

One pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded that he hand over the briefcase he was carrying. The victim refused and fled, police said.

About 30 minutes later, police responded to a report of a robbery in the parking lot of a Denny's restaurant at 46645 Mission Blvd.

Two victims told police they were confronted by three males, one armed with a handgun. The trio took a wallet and cell phone from the victims and fled in a car similar to the SUV used in the attempted robbery, according to police.

At 12:15 a.m. Monday, an officer spotted the SUV parked in front of a fast-food restaurant with four people inside, police said.

All four occupants were detained, and the victims of the two crimes identified them as the suspects. Three are juveniles, and all four were arrested, according to police.
