Fire reported in hills near UC Berkeley
Berkeley firefighters were responding to a fire Thursday morning in the hills east of the UC Berkeley campus, according to an alert from UC police.
The alert, issued shortly after 8:15 a.m., said no UC Berkeley buildings were threatened by the fire, but that people on the campus may smell smoke in the area.
