Fire Damages Room In Petaluma Rehab Center

PETALUMA (BCN) - Fire investigators in Petaluma suspect arson caused a fire at a convalescent facility early Sunday morning.

Fire was reported in a room at the Petaluma Health and Rehabilitation facility at 300 Douglas St. around 5:35 a.m., according to the Petaluma Fire Department.

Staff members at the facility successfully evacuated patients to safe areas and no injuries were reported.

The fire was contained to one room and declared under control around 6:20 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation but is believed to have been arson, according to the fire department.

Damage to the facility has been estimated at around $10,000.
