Fire Crews Put Out Hi-Rise Fire Near Oakland's Lake Merritt
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Firefighters extinguished an apartment fire in a high-rise building next to Lake Merritt in Oakland, according to an Oakland fire dispatcher.
The fire was reported around 11:50 a.m. at a high-rise apartment building at 1 Lakeside Drive, the dispatcher said.
Crews arrived at the high-rise know as The Essex Lake Merritt to find a fire inside an apartment on the building's 19th floor, according to a post on the Oakland Fire Department's official Twitter page.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control around 12:15 p.m., the dispatcher said.
Information about the extent of damage caused by the blaze was not immediately available.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
