Fior D'Italia Serves Final Meals In SF's North Beach

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - It's the end of the line for a legendary San Francisco eatery that's been serving diners for more than a century.

Fior D'Italia opened its doors in 1886, operating in a number of North Beach locations over the years. It took its final orders from customers Monday night.

Business has been down for the restaurant since a fire in 2005 forced another move from Union Street to the corner of Mason and Francisco streets.

The restaurant called itself "America's Oldest Italian Restaurant."
