Fairfield Homeowners Finding Fake Code Violation Notices

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Fairfield residents have been receiving what appear to be violation notices from the city's Code Enforcement Division, but police have said the notices are fakes.

The fliers, printed on yellow paper with the City of Fairfield logo in the upper left-hand corner, have been placed on vehicles over the past several days, according to police.

The notices state that the recipient is in violation of City Code 7.6 with a fine of $287, and say they are from a code enforcement officer named Eddie Felson.

There is no such person working for the police department, and the notices do not come from either the city or police, police said.

Anyone with information on the source of the fliers should call Fairfield police at (707) 428-7600.
