Date Set For San Jose's Antitrust Case Against Major League Baseball
SAN JOSE (CBS SF)— A date has been set for arguments in San Jose's antitrust case against Major League Baseball (MLB).
The San Jose Mercury News reports the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will take up the case on August 12th.
The city of San Jose had been hoping that the case would be put on a faster track, but the court pushed the hearing back until August.
San Jose has been fighting MLB, which is refusing to allow the Oakland A's to move to the South Bay. A federal judge sided with the league citing its nearly century-old antitrust exemption.
