Crews Douse Barn Fire South of Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Crews were leaving the scene of a fire that broke out at a barn just south of Santa Rosa Saturday morning, a Sonoma County fire dispatcher said.

Firefighters responded to a barn fire at 376 Todd Road in unincorporated Santa Rosa at 8:13 a.m., the dispatcher said.

The fire was mostly under control by 8:30 a.m. and around 10 a.m. remaining crews were preparing to leave the area, according to the dispatcher.

The one-alarm fire started outside the barn and then spread to the structure, the dispatcher said.

No injuries were reported.

A neighbor who lives on 5 acres across the street said around 8:45 a.m. she could see smoke in the area and smell smoke.

Charlotte Zappa, who has lived on Todd Road for 29 years with her husband, said she could see two fire trucks parked at the property across the street, which includes a barn and buildings.

She said the fields in the area this summer have been "bone dry."
