Conservatives Rally in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) _ Thousands of Christian conservatives are praying and fasting at the state Capitol to protest gay marriage, pornography and abortion.
Saturday's daylong event called "The Call to Conscience" by organizers is being led by Lou Engle and other pastors and speakers. Engle, the organizer of previous events in other cities, is calling on followers to resist what his group considers attacks on traditional morality.
Organizers say people have traveled from all over the country to attend the event.
It follows a similar prayer march and rally to a Houston abortion clinic back in January.
