A's Announce 2014 Schedule, Will Open Against Indians
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- While the Oakland A's organization said its focus remains on repeating as American League West Division champions at month's end, the team has announced the regular season schedule for 2014.
The A's will host the Cleveland Indians Monday, March 31 for the earliest home Opening Day in Oakland history, while other 2014 highlights include NL East inter-league home games at the O.co Coliseum against the Washington Nationals, New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies and a first-ever appearance at the new Marlins Park in Miami.
For the second consecutive year, the Athletics will also play four straight games against the cross-bay rival San Francisco Giants as part of the inter-league schedule, with the first two match-ups staged in Oakland July 7-8 followed by a two-game series at AT&T Park July 9-10.
