Actor To Play 'Ra's al Ghul' Cast On Arrow: Season 3

(KBCW) – So last season on "Arrow," our primary baddie Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) took being a villain to a whole new level. This upcoming third season looks to give poor Ollie a run for his money. Wait. Does Oliver even have ANY money?

Well, the Arrow himself, Stephen Amell took to Twitter and announced the addition of Australian actor Matthew Nable to the cast as DC Comics' epic bad-ass villain "Ra's al Ghul!"

Former rugby league player turned actor, Matthew Nable is best known for his role "Boss Johns" alongside Vin Diesel in "Riddick" and in the action thriller "Killer Elite." Nable also has taken on roles on the small screen, internationally.

Just the week before Liam Neeson, who played Ra's al Ghul in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins," spoke to MTV about his willingness to reprise his role for the television series. He was asked if anyone approached him about the role and he replied "No, I haven't, I haven't at all. I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah, very much so."

This will be the first time we see Nable in the form of Ra's al Ghul on "Arrow" since the character was only mentioned in season 2. During "Heir To The Demon" we met Ra's al Ghul's daughter Nyssa played by Katrina Law, who was bent on bringing home Sara, aka The Canary (Caity Lotz) to the League of Assassins.

Catch An All-New Season of 'Arrow' Starting Wednesday, October 8th at 8:00pm
