Oakland Man Assaulted, Robbed While Sitting In Car
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- An Oakland resident was assaulted and robbed in his car Saturday night, police officials reported.
The male victim was sitting in his car while on his cellphone on 39th Avenue at 9:30 p.m. After talking on his phone for several minutes, he was approached by two people who opened the car door, assaulted and robbed him, police said.
According to police, street robberies are on the rise in Oakland and incidents like this can be avoided.
Police remind the public to stay alert and practice sound personal safety habits.
