4 Hurt In String Of Unrelated Shootings In Oakland
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Police in Oakland responded to a string of apparently unrelated shootings Sunday that sent multiple victims to hospitals, a police officer said.
The first incident appeared to be a shootout among multiple individuals around 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Clay Street, police said.
One victim injured by gunfire in the shooting was arrested on gun charges and taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said.
Around 3 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery and shooting in front of an Arco gas station located at 10600 MacArthur Blvd.
A suspect approached two people sitting in a parked vehicle, demanded cash and shot one of the victims in the stomach, police said. That victim was taken to the hospital in guarded condition.
At 10:40 p.m., a man was shot in both legs while standing in line at Maxwell's Lounge located at 341 13th Street, an officer said. He was listed in stable condition early Monday morning.
Police responded to another shooting around 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of 70th Street and International Boulevard, where a man who had been walking in the area was shot in the chest.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, according to police.
No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
