3-Alarm Fire Tears Through Commercial Building in San Leandro

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- Alameda County Fire Department officials said no injuries were reported Friday night in a three-alarm fire in San Leandro at a commercial building.

As of 9:46 p.m., firefighters were battling the blaze at 20 Georgia Way. Residents in the area of Georgia Way and East 14th Street were evacuated because of the fire.

The fire was centered around an upholstery and home furnishing store which is surrounded by several other businesses.

The fire quickly ripped through the business and firefighters had to move into defensive mode as the roof came crashing down.

East 14th Street was closed between Broadmoor Boulevard and Davis Street.
