3.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes East Of San Jose
SAN JOSE (BCN) - The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.1 struck Friday morning in unincorporated Santa Clara County east of San Jose.
According to the USGS, the earthquake struck shortly before 9:15 a.m. and had a depth of 5 miles.
The quake was centered 8 miles east-southeast of Milpitas and 9 miles east-northeast of San Jose City Hall, according to the USGS.
