2nd Victim In Richmond Double Murder Identified

RICHMOND (CBS SF) - A man found shot to death in front of a Richmond apartment complex in a double homicide on Sunday has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as Vashone Lee.

Lee, 37, an El Sobrante resident, was found on the sidewalk next to the second victim, 37-year-old Richmond resident Melanie Williams, around 10:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Bissell Ave., Richmond police Lt. Bisa French said.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim, a woman, was found with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital. She is expected to survive, French said.

Richmond police are also investigating a separate shooting that occurred around 9:45 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Gertrude Ave. near North Richmond, French said.

Police found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, she said.

No arrests have been made in either case. Police are investigating whether the shootings are related.
