SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A second suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery and fatal beating of a man in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park last month, police and prosecutors said Monday.

Jeremy Brinker, 33, was arrested at about 4 p.m. Thursday in Weed, a town located about four hours north of the Bay Area in Siskiyou County, San Francisco police spokesman Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.

Brinker and Marcus Herrera, 23, are accused of killing 55-year-old Robert Musial, who was found by officers near Sharon Art Studio in Golden Gate Park around 7:20 p.m. on April 27, police said.

Brinker made his initial appearance in court Monday to face charges including murder, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon—the skateboard—and conspiracy, district attorney's officespokesman Alex Bastian said.

Sporting long blonde hair and a beard, Brinker, who is being held in lieu of $10 million bail, did not enter a plea and his arraignment was continued to Friday, when Herrera will also make his next appearance in court.

Investigators had previously identified Herrera as a suspect in the case. He was arrested April 29 and pleaded not guilty May 4 to similar charges.

The case was discovered by officers who found Musial suffering some sort of medical emergency in the park. He lost consciousness before an ambulance arrived and although paramedics tried to revive him, he was pronounced dead at there.

Witnesses reported that Musial had been involved in some sort of altercation prior to being found by police, and an autopsy by the medical examiner's office preliminarily found that he had suffered blunt-force injuries, causing the case to be ruled a homicide, police said.
