28-Year-Old Shot Dead In East Oakland
OAKLAND (BCN) - A 28-year-old Oakland man was shot to death in East Oakland on Tuesday afternoon, according to police spokesman Jeff Thomason.
Officers went to the 900 block of 72nd Avenue at 2 p.m. on Tuesday to respond to reports of gunshots, Thomason said.
The officers found a man who was later identified as Herbert Renfro at the corner of 71st Avenue and Spencer Street, he said.
Further investigation revealed that Renfro had been shot in the 900 block of 72nd Avenue, according to Thomason.
Emergency medical personnel transported Renfro to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Thomason said.
He said information about the shooting is still being developed by investigators.
