2015 MLB Schedules Released; Giants, A's Won't Face Off Until Late Season

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The Bay Bridge series may take on added importance next year as the Giants and A's meet down the stretch with playoff implications likely.

In 2014, the teams played four games in early July, with each team hosting a pair of the midweek match-ups. Traditionally, the teams have played prior to the All-Star break, but the shift to inter-league play throughout the year makes a late season matchup possible.

In 2015, the teams won't play for the first time until late July, when the A's visit AT&T for a weekend series the 24th-16th. Rather than play each other back-to-back, like they did this season, the series will go on hiatus for two months, and resume in Oakland September 25th-27th. This gives both teams a weekend series to sell tickets to the popular matchup. The series in Oakland will be the final regular-season home games for the team, and the final road series for the Giants, meaning both could potentially be jockeying for a playoff spot.

Among other notable matchups for the A's: Hosting Texas for Opening Day April 6th; Playing at Dodger Stadium August 18-19; Closing out season in Seattle October 4th. Complete A's Schedule.

Other interesting Giants dates: Opening day at Arizona April 6th; Hosting Rockies for home opener August 13th; Playing in Washington D.C. on 4th of July; closing out season at home against Dodgers and Rockies. Full Giants Schedule.
