2 Richmond Shootings Leave 1 Dead, 1 Hurt

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Police in Richmond continue to investigate two separate shootings Friday night and Saturday morning that left one man dead and another hospitalized, a lieutenant said Sunday.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1400 block of Dunn Avenue at about 10:30 p.m., Richmond police Lt. George Garcia said.

Arriving officers found a man shot outside a home, Garcia said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second shooting was reported about 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Harbour Way, Garcia said.

A man suffering gunshot wounds was found on the sidewalk and taken to a hospital with life threatening injuries.

Investigators have not established any connection between the two shootings, Garcia said.

Any suspect information was not available as of 2 p.m. Sunday.
