2 Men, 2 Dogs Shot Dead On Same Oakland Block

OAKLAND (CBS/AP) -- Two men and two dogs were killed in related shootings on the same block in Oakland, according to police.

The shootings occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday. The men, who were not identified, were standing on a porch on the 6100 block of Harmon Street at around 8 p.m when at least one gunman opened fire from across the street before fleeing, according to officer A. Frye.

The men died at the scene.

Investigators believe two dogs in a yard across from the home were also fatally shot by the same assailant or assailants.

Sgt. Jim Rullamas said no arrests have been made and investigators have not identified a possible motive for the attack.

Another house was hit by gunfire, but the residents were not hurt.
