2 Hurt In Separate Richmond Drive-By Shootings
RICHMOND (BCN) - Two people were injured in separate drive-by shootings in Richmond on Wednesday night, Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said Thursday.
The first shooting happened at about 8:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of 24th Street.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was walking with a friend when a tan 1980s two-door Pontiac drove by and someone inside fired a gun at her, French said.
A bullet grazed the victim's head and she was taken to a hospital, where police were notified, French said.
The second shooting happened at about 9 p.m.
That victim, a 50-year-old man, was standing in a driveway talking to a friend when he saw a silver Buick turn onto South 47th Street from Wall Avenue.
Someone in the Buick began shooting at the victim, striking him in the leg, French said.
A friend took him to a hospital. Both victims are expected to survive.
As of Thursday morning, no motive for either shooting had been determined and no suspects had been identified.
