2 Arrested In Pleasant Hill Assault, Robbery
PLEASANT HILL (BCN) - Two men were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Pleasant Hill in connection with the assault of a Concord man, police said.
Officers received a call of a group of men assaulting a lone man in the parking lot of 300 Ellinwood Way at about 2:10 p.m.
The men were allegedly knocked the victim to the ground and hit and kicked the victim in the head and torso, police said, before they took his cell phone and fled in a maroon Ford Mustang.
A nearby officer spotted the suspect vehicle, which tried to evade the officer by pulling into a shopping center parking lot, and stopped the car.
Working with witnesses and the victim, the suspects—Daniel Lopez, 20, and Frederick Yetter, 24 -- were identified and taken into custody.
Both men were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
The victim was treated at the scene and police were able to recover his cell phone.
