$10,000 Reward Offered In Richmond Credit Union Robbery

RICHMOND (BCN) - Police are asking for the public's help in finding two men who robbed a credit union in Richmond at gunpoint earlier this month, a detective said Thursday.

The robbery happened at 4:21 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Atchison Village Credit Union at Collins and Curry streets in the city's Atchison Village neighborhood, Richmond police Detective David Funk said.

The two men entered the bank, pointed guns at employees and ordered them to turn around and face the wall, Funk said.

The men then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a drawer and fled.

They were both described as Hispanic males in their 20s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 130 to 150 pounds. Both were wearing hats and hooded sweatshirts.

Police have released photos of the men taken from the bank's surveillance camera as well as a sketch of one of the suspects.

The bank is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the two men, Funk said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Richmond Police Department at (510) 620-6643 or Detective Funk at (510) 621-1552.
