Man Dead, Another Critical In Oakland Shooting

OAKLAND (BCN) -- A shooting left one victim in critical condition and another man dead Saturday afternoon in Oakland, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 12:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of 98th Avenue, Oakland police Officer J. Moore said.

Responding crews found two victims suffering from life-threatening injuries, Moore said, and they were transported to a nearby hospital.

One of the victims, a 37-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the hospital, the Alameda County coroner's bureau said. The bureau said it would not release more details about the man until his family had been notified.

No suspects had been arrested in connection to the shooting.
