Dave, Kayte, and Nate recap a phenomenal Raiders season, Kings vs Warriors last night, and more.
Stephen Curry scored 30 points and the defense started rolling after halftime, with the Warriors taking their first lead midway through the third quarter on the way to a 117-106 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.
Cruising into the playoffs with potentially even the top seed in the AFC, Oakland (12-5) saw its magical carpet ride come to a crashing end in the form of a broken right fibula for quarterback and MVP candidate Derek Carr in the second half of its win over Indianapolis on Dec. 24.
With Carr in a walking boot unable to travel, the Raiders lost the season finale at Denver to fall short of a division title and a first-round bye.
So earlier in the week I looked back at the BOLD predictions that I had for the San Francisco 49ers 2016 season. I was surprisingly spot on for how the 17 weeks would unfold for the 49ers. Here now is a look back at what I predicted for the Silver and Black.
The Raiders' first trip to the playoffs since the 2002 season, when they went to the Super Bowl, ended with a thud behind the struggles of third-string rookie Connor Cook. He threw for 161 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.
With their 27-14 loss to the Houston Texans (10-7), Oakland (12-5) saw its season come to an end, a season that could have been so much more were not it for MVP candidate Derek Carr breaking his right fibula in the team's next to last regular season game against Indianapolis.
The NBA has announced plans to stream a regular-season game via Facebook Live for the first time.
Before Derek Carr broke his right fibula, the Raiders were a game in front of Kansas City for the AFC West title. Fast-forward a few weeks and it is the Chiefs sitting home and resting this weekend. That rest is something Oakland would have surely loved to have had.
Kayte's question is…will the NBA assess the standard $5,000 fine to Mr. Gasol?
