SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are investigating the stabbing death of a woman in a Sacramento home on Tuesday morning.

According to a police statement, the stabbing happened at 7:15 a.m. at a residence in the 7300 block of 22nd Street.

Police say a man called 911 and admitted he had stabbed someone. When they arrived, they found a woman's body.

Police have detained a suspect.

"The suspect and victim are not married. They are related somehow; those details are still being sorted out. We have investigators at the scene and the suspect is here at police headquarters being interviewed," said Konrad von Schoech, a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson.

They have not released the identity of the victim.
