Wind Advisory Issued For Tuesday
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- The spring-like warm weather is beginning to cool off, but the spring-like winds are waiting in the wings.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of Tuesday, giving a specific warning to motorists who may have to deal with strong wind gusts across the Sacramento Valley, San Joaquin Valley and the Delta throughout the day.
Steady winds are expected to build overnight and reach constant speeds of 15 to 30 MPH by 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, with wind gusts capable of topping 45 MPH, meteorologists said. The gusts should begin to weaken Tuesday evening.
Cities as far north as Chico and as far south as Stockton and Modesto have been included in the wind advisory.
The high winds will pose a particular risk to high profile vehicles like big rigs, trailers, SUVs and vans.
