Two Cars Hit Auburn Businesses In Separate Incidents
AUBURN (CBS13) – A bank and a donut shop suffered damage after cars smashed through their walls in separate incidents Saturday.
Auburn investigators said a teenager panicked after making a wrong turn in the parking lot of a Bank of America near Highway 49 and Bell Road, and when the driver stepped on the gas, the car lurched through the bank's wall.
Nobody was injured in the crash, but police said the teen was so startled by the crash that she fainted. She was treated at a local hospital and is expected to recover.
In another accident, an elderly driver crashed through the glass door of the Dunk'n Run Donuts on the 1200 block of Grass Valley Highway early Saturday morning.
A customer narrowly avoided injury and escaped unharmed, and the driver was not injured. The donut shop is back open for business.
