Man found dead with stab wounds in Tracy, road reopens

TRACY - An investigation was underway after a man was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Tracy Sunday morning, the police department said. 

Just after 6 a.m., officers got a report that a person may be dead on the 100 block of West Central Avenue. This is where they found the 24-year-old man dead with stab wounds in a drainage canal. 

During the course of the investigation, police learned the man died from self-inflicted injuries.

West Central Avenue was closed for several hours on Sunday for the investigation.
