Tracy Hires New Fire Chief
TRACY, Calif. (AP) -- A fire chief from Southern California will be moving to Tracy to become the city's new fire chief.
Tracy officials say Brea Fire Chief Alford Nero will take over the chief's spot on Jan. 1.
The Stockton Record says Nero replaces former Tracy Fire Chief Chris Bosch, who was placed on administrative leave earlier this year after claims he made alleging a hostile work environment. Bosch was later fired.
Bosch's attorney, Al Ellis, termed the firing "retaliation."
Nero comes to Tracy with 39 years of experience, including the last 11 years with the Brea Fire Department.
Previously he managed the Richmond Fire Department, while earlier in his career he was the assistant fire chief in Oakland.
