Tioga Road In Yosemite Reopens
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (CBS13) – Park officials say they have reopened a popular Sierra Nevada crossing into Yosemite thanks to improving road conditions.
Highway 120, also known as Tioga Road, has been closed in recent weeks due to dangerous ice and snow conditions, but authorities said they reopened the road to traffic Friday afternoon.
The east-west crossing over the Sierra Nevada may be subject to chain controls and closure if weather worsens, and drivers are still urged to use caution on the road.
Glacier Point Road will remain closed for the season, officials said.
