Three Things Wrong In Sports Right Now

Not to get too ticky-tacky about everything wrong in the sports world right now, but here are three different situations in sports that are just plain wrong.

1. Hope Solo

Solo is the Women's US National soccer team goalkeeper, she works her hard to be the best and represent America.

She also led her professional team to it's title while undergoing trial for two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault stemming from an altercation with her sister and 17-year-old nephew at a family gathering in June.

She has pleaded not guilty and the case is scheduled for trial on Nov. 4. She faces up to six months in jail if convicted. Solo should not be on the soccer field playing and representing the U.S right now.

The NFL got two of their trouble making football players off the field, slowly, but Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson are both finally not playing football right now. So why hasn't U.S Soccer taken a stand against domestic violence and taken Solo off the field?

U.S Soccer, please be better than NFL's Commissioner Roger Goodell and take Solo off the field sooner than later. Stop waiting for  the legal process to play out and have some moral values.

2. Derek Jeter

He's been the face of baseball for quite sometime now. Jeter came to New York and helped the Yankees win four championships in five years and will now retire with five World Series titles.

He will play his last game at Yankees Stadium on September 25th. There are still three games left in the season and now he has to play his last career baseball game EVER in Boston at Fenway Park.

Yes, the MLB schedule came out before Jeter announced his retirement but the MLB knew that the Jeter era was coming to an end and should've been more prepared to have the Yankees last games of the regular season in New York.

Now Jeter, the best shortstop in Yanks history will have to experience his final walk off baseball moment with hardcore Red Sox fans.

3. Darnell Dockett

UPDATE: They man who Darnell Dockett rewarded with tickets was actually helping a security guard break up the fight, not one of the guys involved in the melee.

ORIGINAL POST:

A brawl broke out in the stands at the Niners-Cardinals game between some fans on September 21st. It's 2014, so of course the entire fight was caught on a cell phone and was all over sports sites and social media within the same day.

Arizona Cardinals defensive end Dockett noticed that one man in the video, throwing punches, was wearing his jersey.

Dockett tweeted:

They met and he rewarded the man with tickets to a game.

Dockett rewarded him for fighting? This should not be allowed. With social media being so powerful this whole situation just looks like Dockett is promoting brawls at football stadiums.

Football is already a violent sport and by rewarding some fan publicly for fighting at a football game should not be allowed. Come on NFL, take a stand and show that your league will not stand for your players supporting brawls at their games. While you're at it, how about you show that your league will not stand for domestic violence or child abuse either, thanks.
