Three Coaches Who Transitioned to the NFL

Urban Meyer just won his second College Football National Championship. Although there are rumors and questions being thrown around about whether or not Meyer will transition to the NFL, here are three high profile coaches who did make that transition:

1. Jim Harbaugh

Harbaugh coached at USD and Stanford before making his way to the San Francisco 49ers. After parting ways with the Niners after this last season, he accepted the head coaching job at Michigan where he hopes to make the football program in Ann Arbor relevant again.

2. Pete Carol

He was an assistant in college and in the NFL for years before getting his first head coaching position with USC. He ditched USC before the NCAA was going to come down hard on him and the program for violations and landed the head coaching job with the Seattle Seahawks. Apparently it's worked out pretty well for him so far.

3. Nick Saban

Saban went from winning a National Champioship with LSU to coaching the Miami Dolphins where things didn't go so well. After two seasons in the NFL he went back to college football and started coaching in Alabama. Roll Tide.
