Thousands Pack First Night Of TBD Festival

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Huge crowds jammed the TBD Music Festival on the banks of the Sacramento River. This weekend, nearly 30,000 people are expected attend the festival in West Sacramento.

With crazy music and lights and the intensity on stage, the loyal fans let loose, cheering on some of the biggest names in music.

Forever grateful, musician Rasar, says Sacramento was the place that provided the platform.

"It's always a reminder Sacramento prepared me to go elsewhere because there's so much competition here," he said.

The local competition is still alive and well.

Tater tots were being mixed like crazy on the Drewski's food truck.

"This is the first day and we've probably already tripled what we did the first day last year," said Andrew Blaskovich, owner of Drewski's.

And beef jerky sold like hotcakes at the Campfire Foods stand.

"It's probably the best place in the state to start a food company. I'm from the Bay Area and moved up here just so i can start this," said Eric Kimzey, owner of Campire Foods.

There was also an all-out art battle under a tent.

"[It's] anything you want it to be," said Maria Baptista with War on Walls.

It's a festival that stayed true to its name, TBD, or to be determined.

"As we evolve with this festival, the name continues to evolve with us," said event organizer Patrick Harvison.

But as West Sacramento expands, will TBD outgrow its location? That too is TBD for now.

Organizers want to give out-of-towners a new experience by the river.

"In the food that they're eating, in the music that they're listening to, it really is Sacramento's best face forward," said Harvison.
