THE LIST- today's version ICONIC PLAYOFF PERFORMANCES

Each and every day on the show at 1:40 we have THE LIST. Today's topic- ICONIC PLAYOFF PERFORMANCES.

 

Cory's list:

1) The Larry Bird/Michael Jordan playoff battle in 1986 at the Boston Garden.  Bird went off for 36 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists but it was all about a young MJ.  Jordan went 22-41 from the floor and ended with 63 points in a double overtime loss.

2) Bob Gibson's 17 strikeout performance in the 1968 World Series against the Detroit Tigers

3) David Freese in game 6 of the 2011 World Series. Freese capped one of the best games in baseball history with a walk off home run.

 

Nate's List:

1) Sleepy Floyd-  Eric Sleepy Floyd went off for 29 fourth quarter points for the Warriors against the Lakers in the 1987 playoffs.

2) Mike Bibby- Nate liked Bibby and all of his clutch shooting moments, including his game 5 2002 Western Conference Finals game winner against the Lakers.

3) Tim Lincicum- First playoff start and Nate was there to see Timmy shut down the Braves for 14k's.  That started a playoff run for the first World Series for the SF Giants.

 

Jason's List:

1) MJ- The Shoulder Shrug game. When Michael Jordan lit up the Blazers for 6 first half 3 pointers and even he couldn't believe it.  All he could do was look at the tv broadcasters and shrug his shoulders in disbelief.

2) Madison Bumgarner- His 2014 World Series will go down as one of the more amazing playoff performances ever. When called on by manager Bruce Bochy to go in game 7 after pitching a 117 pitch shutout in game 5, Bumgarner got the ball in the 5th inning and never gave it back. He helped the Giants to their 3rd World Series in 5 seasons.

3) Tiger Woods- 2008 US Open playoff win over Rocco Mediate on an injured leg.  Tiger had to birdie the last hole on Sunday to force a playoff. Tiger had to birdie the last hole of the playoff to force sudden death. He won the sudden death hole and another major all with an injured leg.
