The Don Geronimo Show - January 24, 2012
Today, Don begins with a story that happened on his way to the station at 4:45am. While pumping gas, a man drove up to the gas station completely naked, and got out of his car to pump gas. Don then tells us of the rent a cop who was driving behind him that he mistook for a real cop. The guys then get into a discussion about what if Don was in the mob, which leads to what if the entire radio station was a mob family, who's role would be what, and who would be the snitches? Don goes through the station directory and reads off the names of the people who work at the station, and the guys decide who would be the loyal made men, and who would be the rats.
After finding out that JELLO is made of animal bones, and hearing a Family Feud clip in which one of the answers was "schlong" Don plays a youtube video of the worst gospel song ever. The guy singing sounds oddly familiar to Little Joe, so Joe sings along, and sounds exactly like him! We then hear a clip of one of the 911 calls from Tracy Morgan's collapse at Sundance, and the 911 call from Gene Hackman getting hit by a car. Don then reads a survey on behavioral differences between black and white folk.
We then get a visit from Chris Myers, from FOX NFL. Before we lose the connection with him, Chris tells us about working the 49ers/Giants game on Sunday, being on the 49ers sideline, and why Jim Harbaugh didn't come out afterwards to do his press conference. The guys then discuss whether or not that was classless on the part of Harbaugh. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about the Oscar nominations, a new TV show that Jimmy Fallon is working on with Roseanne, and a dentist who got arrested for using paperclips in his root canal procedures. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
