The Don Geronimo Show - February 27, 2012
Today on the Don Geronimo show, Don starts off by talking about Craig the Intern, the doofus of our gang, will be leaving the show early today because he has jury duty. Carmichael Dave suggests to Craig to try and get off jury duty by showing the judge his Bill Walsh coaching tree tattoo. Don then asks Craig to come in studio and show his tattoo off. While in studio, Don notices Craig is wearing his "big boy" clothes as he gets ready to head to court.
Don recaps what happened late Friday morning when Tom Couzens called the show and cursed at Craig. The first call happened Wednesday when the guys were playing clips of Warf from Star Trek. The next call happened Friday when Don was using his megaphone and pretending to be Peter Cetera. Both calls happened at the same time. Little Joe did some detective work comparing both the voicemail on the cell phone and Tom Couzens Sacramento Bee voicemail, which both outgoing messages sounded the same. Carmichael Dave then says his "source" at the Bee says that Tom Couzens said that someone "cloned" his phone number and that it wasn't him. Don then unloads on Tom and his un-professionalism, and says cloning your phone isn't real.
Don talks about his weekend, declaring it "the best weekend ever" because he did nothing! His lazy Saturday started off by eating and laying on the couch and watching DVR shows all day. Don then talks about him and Janet going to Round Table Saturday night after a day of doing nothing. Don says he's looking particularly bad Saturday night, not showering and having bed hair and has a diva moment when the manager wants a picture with him. Don talks about his Sunday morning experience at the donut shop when some jerk held up the line letting his kid take her time picking the donuts, then using a bag of change to pay. It ends up ok though, as Don got free donuts out of it. Don then goes back to Saturday night and talks about how funny it was to see Carmichael Dave reporting live from Bislas for CBS 13 on the Kings arena talks. Then Don and the boys start to discuss the arena situation and after Sundays meeting with the Maloofs, mayor Kevin Johnson and the NBA. Dave then tells us how when his great radio career is over, he will run for city council, and win! Leading to the others literally laughing out loud.
Don reads some texts that cloning your phone is possible, but Dons not buying it and says Tom Couzens is lying. Slow Joe Ardinger gives his conspiracy theory on why Christina Anderson left Good Day Sacramento for the big gig on the evening news. Slow Joe believes that since Christina wore an owl necklace a few weeks back, that she is obviously apart of The Illuminati, who runs the media, and they gave her the big chair. Don then talks about Billy Crystal sucking as host of the Oscars, but defends Billy for doing "black face" for his Sammy Davis Jr. impersonation. Don plays the sound of Billy Crystal acting as Sammy Davis Jr. with Justin Bieber in the opening montage. Don then plays sound of Sacha Baron Cohen acting like his new character "The Dictator" from the Oscars red carpet spilling ashes on Ryan Seacrest.
Don continues to talk Oscars, by asking if Jennifer Lopez had a nipple slip during the Oscars last night...which all the guys agree, yes she did! Don then does some Dirty Jay and Observational Jay jokes. Don reads an email from Zach, a fan listening to us in Paris. Don calls the operator to try and be connected with Zach, but can't. He still goes on to have a lovely conversation with the personable operator. Don takes a call from Chris, a guy who videotaped a guy who filmed a naked man trying to get a job at a welding shop this weekend. Then Don plays some more clips from the Oscars including Chris Rock ripping animation right before he gives the award for Best Animation, and Meryl Streep winning the Oscar for Best Actress. Then Don finds the video of the naked guy at the welding shop and plays the hilarious video for Phantom and Dave.
Don, Dave and Phantom discuss what a Brad Pitt, George Cloney and Angelina Jolie sex triangle would be like and talk about the top 5 hottest actors. Then Don plays some more audio including a clip of a kid high on pain meds after breaking his arm. The other clip Don plays is of a mom telling her son to stop break dancing before he breaks something and that he'll never be as good as "those little asians."
Don calls Tom Couzens and leaves him a voicemail, saying if Tom can prove that his phone got cloned as he claims, then Don will donate $1,000 to the charity of his choice. Don then dissects Billy Crystals performance at the Oscars by playing Billy's opening montage of songs. Then it's time for the Phantom news hour. Phantom talks about Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudds new movie Wanderlust being a bust at the theater. Little Joe blames the lack of ticket sells on Aniston deciding to not show her boobs in the movie...then Little Joe emails Don paparazzi pics of Jennifer topless at the beach. Phantom talks about Adam Sandler with a record setting 11 Razzies nominations. Phantom also talked about Sean Young going crazy and getting arrested at an Oscars party.
And of course, we end the show with a caller 100.
