Teen Carjacking Suspect Arrested After Chase

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police say two tees suspected in a carjacking and pursuit late Monday night have been arrested.

According to Sacramento Police, an armed carjacking was reported in the Broadway and Tahoe Park area around 11:30 p.m.

About 2 hours later, Sacramento Sheriff's deputies spotted the car, prompting a pursuit.

The car sped down 12th Avenue and crashed near Franklin Boulevard. A male suspect in the car then fled on foot. A 16-year-old girl in the car was detained at the scene of the crash, but a 17-year-old boy took off and hid.

A perimeter was set up by police to look for the teen. However, police say the teen was finally spotted by an officer after squad cars began to leave the area.

Police say the 17-year-old is facing serious charges.

No gun has been recovered at this time.
