Tahoe Water Shuttle Starts Friday On North Shore
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Visitors to the north shore of Lake Tahoe will have a new option for getting around.
The North Tahoe Water Shuttle launches Friday and will make regular stops at four docking areas — West Shore Cafe, Tahoe City Marina, GarWoods Grill and Pier and the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area.
A 30-foot vessel will be able to carry 12 passengers, the crew and up to eight bicycles.
The service will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 8:19 p.m. through August. 26, and until 6:46 p.m. through the end of September.
Rates begin at $10 for adults and $7 for children up to 12 years old.
The pilot program is sponsored by the Tahoe Transportation District with the help of public and private funding.
