Carmichael Home Under Renovation Goes Up In Flames

CARMICHAEL (CBS13) – Fire has heavily damaged a Carmichael home that was under renovation, according to Sacramento Metro Fire Fighters.

The fire broke out at a vacant home on El Camino Avenue and Landwood Drive.

A neighbor spotted flames shooting 50 to 100 feet above the home just before 5:00 this morning.

Fire fighters were able to knock down the flames quickly.

Because of a recent rash of arsons in the Carmichael area, Sacramento Sheriff's department detained a man seen leaving the area of the fire. He was questioned in connection with the blaze, but he was not arrested.

However, investigators later deemed the fire as accidental. They estimate the blaze caused $105,000 worth of damage.
