Suspected Serial Robber Strikes Twice In One Day
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- The suspect in a number of hotel robberies in the Sacramento area tried to rob two more businesses in the space of just a few hours on Monday, police said.
The unidentified man entered the Bonfare market near H Street and 20th Street at about 6:30 a.m. Monday and also tried to rob a motel on the 200 block of Bannon Street at 8:24 a.m.
The suspect didn't get away with cash in either robbery attempt, police said.
Raj Sidhu, a clerk at the downtown Sacramento market, said the suspect threatened to shoot her if she didn't empty the register, but she refused.
"I was like, get lost," Sidhu said.
The Sacramento Police Department said the suspect in six robberies is a white or Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s with a moustache and a goatee.
"Based on the video and descriptions of all the robberies, six in the last three weeks, we believe they are related," said Sgt. Norm Leong.
Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Crime Alert by calling (916) 443-HELP or texting a tip to 274637 with the word "SACTIP" at the beginning of the message. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
