UPDATE: Stockton Woman Killed In Own Home Has Been Identified

STOCKTON (CBS13) – An elderly woman found slain in her Stockton home has been identified.

The woman is 84-year-old Hazel Dingman. Her death is being investigated as the city's 35th homicide this year.

Dingman's body was discovered at 4:18 p.m. in the 500 block of Downing Avenue by her daughter who was picking Hazel up to take her to a Little League game.

Hazel's son had taken her to lunch earlier that day and had given her $8.00. Hazel's daughter says there was no stash of cash in home which had been in her family for years.

Hazel lived with her brother until he had to go into a nursing home. At the time of her death, she lived alone.

Police have not disclosed how Dingman died and a motive has not been released. However, police are saying she suffered trauma to her body.

The Stockton Police department is being helped in the case by the Department of Justice.
