Special Ops Rescue Force Stationed In Bay Area Has Saved Over 1,000 Lives

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS13) - We were given a rare look inside the heart of a special ops force in the Bay Area.

The 129th Rescue Wing is kept at the Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View. It includes a Pave Hawk helicopter and Combat Shadow Aircraft that carry the elite Guardian Angels in the U.S. military. They are the most highly trained rescue and recover specialists.

"We do what we do because we enjoy it. And we do what we do because we want to bring people home," said Jacob, a Guardian Angel.

The 129th Rescue Wing has saved more than 1,000 lives and has been used to fight wildfires and in dangerous combat missions all over the globe.
