Soldiers Facing Charges In Connection With Yuba City Woman's Disappearance
YUBA CITY (CBS13) — Two army soldiers are facing charges in connection with the death of a fellow soldier from Yuba City. And one suspect is the victim's ex-husband.
Sgt. Jamal Williams-McCray and Spc. Charles Robinson are accused of premeditated murder, conspiracy and kidnapping in connection with the death of 25-year-old Shadow McClaine, according to U.S. Army spokesperson Kevin Doheny. Both Soldiers are assigned to the 101st Airborne Division and Williams-McCray is McClaine's ex-husband.
McClaine was living in Fort Campbell, Kentucky at the time she vanished. Her last contact with family was on September 2 when she told a family member she was house sitting for a friend.
Suspicions were raised when her phone was eventually turned off and bank records showed there was no activity. Her car was later found abandoned in a downtown Nashville parking lot.
Williams-McCray was arrested in October and booked into the jail in Montgomery County, Tennessee on out-of-county warrants.
Williams-McCray and Robinson are currently being held pending a preliminary hearing.
McClaine was also serving in the 101st Airborn Division and was set to be discharged on October 11.
