Maryland man faces kidnapping and assault charges in 2 counties
A Maryland man charged with kidnapping a woman near BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport is facing similar charges in Charles County.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Bryan Neal Gordon, of Silver Spring, arranged to meet a woman in Waldorf, Maryland, on June 28.
Once the woman was in his car, police said Gordon claimed to be an officer, handcuffed her, and later sexually assaulted her. She escaped after several hours and called the police.
The next morning, Gordon was arrested in Anne Arundel County for allegedly kidnapping a woman under similar circumstances.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Gordon's vehicle and found evidence connecting him to the assault in Waldorf, according to deputies.
Gordon is charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and other related charges. He is being held in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
Police are trying to determine if there are any other victims.
As the investigation continues, police ask anyone who may have been approached by Gordon to call the police at 301-609-6471.
Arrest near BWI Airport
On the morning of June 29, an MDTA police officer assigned to the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport detachment stopped a car making an illegal turn. The traffic stop occurred near the intersection of W. Nursery and Elm Roads in Linthicum.
Charging documents said during that traffic stop, a woman got out of the car, asking the driver, "Where are my shoes?" She then said, "Give me my shoes."
"He just f--ing kidnapped me, I have the handcuffs right here," she told the officer as she dropped the pair of handcuffs on the ground.
The woman told MDTA detectives Gordon picked her up from the Microtel on Winterson Road. She said they had planned to stay in the parking lot, but Gordon drove off.
At one point, she says Gordon pulled the car over on the freeway and parked close to the guardrail, claiming to be a police officer.
The woman said she tried defending herself, hitting Gordon in the head with a wine bottle. That's when she claims Gordon handcuffed her and forced her into the back seat.
Evidence points to Gordon
Gordon denied the assault in Anne Arundel County, telling investigators he drove around just to smoke with the woman after meeting her on an escort website. However, detectives found fresh wounds and scratches on Gordon's body.
In addition, investigators executed a search of Gordon's car and found a broken nail that matched the color and style of the victim. They also found the wine bottle believed to be used in the altercation.
