SoCal Wildfire Fully Contained, Burned 125 Acres

ACTON, Calif. (AP) — Firefighters have fully contained a wildfire in northern Los Angeles County that destroyed several structures and prompted the evacuation of some 30 homes.

Supervising county fire dispatcher Robert Diaz says the 125-acre blaze erupted shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday near West Crown Valley Road in Acton. It was fully contained late Tuesday and all evacuated residents were allowed to return home.

Diaz says firefighters will remain on the scene overnight mopping up hot spots.

He says one mobile home, one outbuilding, two storage sheds and two vehicles were destroyed. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters launched an aggressive air assault on the blaze that spread quickly due to low humidity and gusty winds.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
