Shooting Outside Stockton Store Injures Baby
STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -- Police say a shooting outside a Stockton store left a baby with a gunshot wound to the neck.
The 1-year-old boy was taken to the hospital, where he's listed in stable condition Thursday.
Stockton Police Officer Pete Smith says the child's parents had taken him to Cal Park Grocery & Liquor on Wednesday night, and when they went back to their car, they found that some had shot it. As they drove away, someone opened fire again on the vehicle.
A bullet went through the back window and struck the baby, who was in the back seat.
Smith told KCRA-TV the boy was crying, but the parents didn't discovered the gunshot wound until they drove home.
Police have not made any arrests yet.
